1. Who we are

Al-Murshid is a Sufi spiritual guidance application operated by ABN 50 582 568 368, based in New South Wales, Australia. We are the party responsible for your personal information as described in this policy. The app is available at al-murshid-fwx4.vercel.app and through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

2. What data we collect and where it is stored

Al-Murshid stores your personal data locally on your own device. This includes:

Your responses during the spiritual assessment
Your station of the nafs and spiritual profile
Journal entries, dream records, and reflections
Wird (daily practice) completion records
Daily usage counts for AI features

This information is held on your device. We do not maintain our own servers that collect or store a copy of this data. The only circumstance in which content leaves your device is described in Section 3 below.

3. AI conversations

When you use AI-powered features (such as the spiritual assessment, speaking with the Murshid, dream interpretation, or daily guidance), the text you submit is transmitted to our AI provider, Anthropic, via the Claude API, in order to generate a response. This transmission is necessary for the app to function.

This content is processed in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not store the content of your conversations on our own servers, and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

Please be mindful that the assessment, journal, and conversations may contain sensitive personal and spiritual reflections. Share only what you are comfortable submitting to an AI service.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not collect, see, or store any payment information. Your subscription status is managed by your app store account.

5. Advertising

Al-Murshid contains no advertisements and does not share any data with advertising networks. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

6. Your rights and choices

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you remain in control of it:

You may delete your spiritual profile and start again using the "Begin a New Assessment" function within the app.
You may clear all locally stored data by clearing the app's storage in your device or browser settings, or by uninstalling the app.
You may contact us at any time with questions about your information or to request assistance, using the details in Section 9.

7. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Your personal data is stored on your own device rather than on our servers, which reduces the risk of large-scale data exposure. Transmission to our AI provider occurs over encrypted connections. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and you use the app understanding this.

8. Children's privacy

Al-Murshid is intended for users aged 16 and older, reflecting the depth of inner work the app invites. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. 10. Changes to this policy
